Nestled in the bountiful countryside of Monopoli (Bari), in contrada Gorgofreddo, 7 km from the Adriatic Sea and 10 km from the center of this vibrant town on the South-Eastern coast of Italy, the main building of Masseria Soluco traces back its origins to the 15th Century. Il Soluco stretches over 5 hectares (12 acres) of almond and olive trees, citrus and pomegranates groves. The exquisite B&B includes 6 rooms decorated in typical Apulian style. The rooms lie on the two levels of the main tower, the old cistern rooms, the stable and manger, which constituted the heart of the rural community that once lived here.
An old stable, a public oven, the remnants of an antique trullo, an 18th-century chapel with a gracious red belltower, an arched apex dominated by the statues of 3 Dominican Saints, bear witness to the life of the inhabitants of this contrada who still gather on the 14th of September to worship these Saints on the day of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
This gorgeous rural picture is enriched by a modern saltwater swimming pool with Jacuzzi jets, located on the most panoramic spot of the masseria at 300m above sea level, overlooking the centuries old oak trees and the majestic olive orchard which cradle this enchanted place.
